I thought it was fantastic. The acting from the central four characters is brilliant, the switching perspectives angle is really interesting, the settings are enviable and it's just very sexy. I'd watch Maura Tierney in anything.

Oh I loved it….. but if you’re not enjoying the back and forth it might not be for you.

Loved the concept. Hated all the sex with women that apparently needed zero foreplay and could come with about 8 thrusts. (Consistent across all 5 series.)

I tried the 1st episode but just couldnt get into it.

Oh it's fabulous! But it needs full concentration and a good few episodes to get into it. If you don't love it half way through season one it's probably not for you.

No I do like it....reminds me of the family film with Nicole Kidman.

Will stick at it as only 2 episodes in

I loved it, but thought it was great all along.

It's better than the Nicole Kidman series, honest. Iirc the location is the same.

Ohhhthedrama · 25/03/2026 22:46

Oh wow that's a blast from the past. I enjoyed the 1st two seasons but it went rapidly down hill in season 3.

I have binged watched the first series of this. Loved the different tellings of the same story. Really clever how what the characters are wearing and even their hair changes

A masterpiece in character-driven storytelling. The Affair dives deep into the complexities of human relationships with a brutally honest take on infidelity. Dominic West and Ruth Wilson—who are actually British—play their roles brilliantly, capturing the deep nuances and pain of their characters. Every season beautifully maps out the fallout of their choices, leaving you with an ending that is both heart-wrenching and beautifully resonant. The writing allows you to live the story entirely through their eyes, making it an unforgettable emotional journey. There will never be a series like it ever again.
