I was quite surprised it’s actually on my pets . I thought it would be socialising then clothes but no it’s my dogs .

If we're not including food then activities and tutoring for children.

I’m glad it’s not just me with dogs being my biggest expense after bills .

Are you referring to food? Because insurance etc is presumably a bill?

BreakingBroken · 23/03/2026 19:38

Pantry; I keep a well stocked pantry and freezer.
Adult children; I give generously

Buscobel · 23/03/2026 19:39

What little is left goes on plants for the garden.

gig tickets and hotels for gigs and fuel to get there and parking etc. basically gigs.

Me too! Apart from the car related parts - replace those with train journeys, or the odd Flixbus at midnight 🙈.

mondaytosunday · 23/03/2026 21:15

Food.
We are going away in a couple days and on holiday most of our money will be spent on eating out too.

Whyplease · 23/03/2026 21:37

Interesting question.
Food then Probably socialising coffee meals etc.

Specialagentblond · 23/03/2026 21:46

This month I’ve budgeted for food, fuel and travel, DH’s big birthday, a new mattress for one child, bulk buy toilet roll (farm foods), a facial, gutter fix and loads of other gifts and cards as well as a condolence fruit basket and happy retirement flowers.

Startthecar · 23/03/2026 21:46

Food shopping for the family.
The amount spent on food monthly has really risen over the past three or four years.
Pet (cat) food also, I spend way more than I ever thought was possible but I don't begrudge them that at all.

DanceMumTaxi · 23/03/2026 21:55

Don’t people think of food as a bill? It’s not like you could do without it. But yeah, our food bill is huge now.

ViciousCurrentBun · 23/03/2026 21:58

I class food shopping in all bills, this is purely for leisure

Dinners and lunches out and our Motorhome.

Waitingfordoggo · 23/03/2026 22:00

In the last few years:

-Maintenance on the flat I rent out (roof repairs, carpets, toilet seats, all manner of boring shite)

-My bloody teeth. (Fillings, root fillings, extractions, implants…)

Hoping to be able to spend some £ on gigs and holidays at some point in the future. In the meantime, DH has been bailing me out on that front but I look forward to being able to contribute to the trips and treats.

applecrumblespider · 23/03/2026 22:03
