....what year did they move into their current house, would you find it a bit odd if they didn't know? I asked a friend of mine this question and she honestly didn't know. I always thought that this was one of the things that everyone automatically knew! Or maybe it's just me 😂

I ask this question at work a lot. Many many people do not know.

I always think I moved into my current house a year earlier than I did.
No idea why.

I'm so surprised she didn't know because I know the exact date of the month as well as the year that I moved into my flat!

Ah well I remember the month but when I tried to remember the year recently I was about 5 years out. 😶

I struggle every time the Drs recetionist asks for my kids DOB so house moving date is most definitely in the grey mists of memory which I need to relate to what else was happening at the time.

I'm also shit with remembering more than 3 numbers in sequence and recognising significant dates.

It's all the same numerical lists of nonsense to my brain. I am however excellent at names and facts.

I have to think about it, I know roughly how many years...but couldn't tell you the year immediately.

I know the exact date I moved into my first flat as it was the one year anniversary of my grandfather's death

I can work it out roughly as I know my cats ages and that I'd had them roughly a year (from kittens) when I moved.

I'd have to stop and think about it and work it out every time though, it's not a thing that stays lodged in my memory. It's been over a decade and it's not a piece of info I've ever been asked anywhere so I didn't have repetition to help me memorise it.

We've lived in several houses, some rented, some owned, and I can remember the year and month we moved into all of them, going back to the late 1980s! I do have to think a bit harder for the earlier ones though.

I suppose it helps that I've lived in the same house for 40 years!

Some people are good with numbers/dates - some are not.

I can tell you the exact date - 20th October 2001. It's the longest I've ever lived in a house, including my family homes growing up.

I think I only know because it was just before Covid otherwise I’d have to have a think. We’ve lived in a lot of houses over the years so it could be difficult

Yes, weird not to know the year and maybe if it was summer or winter. I mean, if someone had lived in their house for 40 odd years then they might be a few years out. But to have no idea at all is odd.

Yes date month and year however I also remember my first childhood home and when we moved out of there on 11th july 1991 into our next family home when i bought my own home which is my current one i also moved in 11th july just a different year !

I know exact date but DH cannot get it fixed in his brain. 😂😂

I had to think about when I read your question. I worked it out, but didn't know immediately off the top.
