Anyone ever heard of a "Venue Fee"?

My local cinema have started adding a "venue fee" of £3.95 at the end of the transaction. What's a venue fee? I never heard of that.

No idea, but given the mess people leave behind in the cinema, maybe it goes towards the cleaning costs. Is there anything in the small print about it? Or is it like a booking fee if you pay on line?

Yes, usually historical buildings in need of upkeep. Alexandra Palace is one that I can think of that sometimes passes on the venue levy into the event ticket price.

I think it might be a booking fee - i've never had to pay it on the door.
