Sting-y throat - no sleep

I have the worst kind of sore throat. I present to you, the sting-y throat.
It doesn't hurt but stings constantly, making my eyes cry and triggering my gag reflex. How do I make this stop?
I keep falling asleep and then the throat wakes me up after a 5 second micronap. I've tried honey, sipping drinks to keep it lubricated, and an out of date anaesthetic throat spray, to no avail. I'm propped up on two pillows and on my front rather than back which helps a tiny bit. The backdrip is off the scale.

Anyone with a solution will have my eternal gratitude. Thank you

Gargle salt water might help

Ibuprofen + acetaminophen; warm salt water gargle; sinus rinse & nasal spray of Dristan then Nasonex; and throat lozenges.

Acetaminophen (arthritis strength 500mg x2)
I’m a fan of NyQuil there must be a UK version.

NyQuil is amazing, we can’t get anything that good in the UK. I’d bloody love a bottle of that stuff!

Soluble paracetamol is my go to. The bits cling to the sore throat and ease it quickly. I swear by this. If I don’t have soluble I just crush them and put them in water.
