Will you show your child the threads you posted about them when they're older?

And what would your parents have posted about you?

Mine would have posted about the time I went to bed fully clothed with my pyjamas over the top because it would save time in the morning. (Made sense to me!).

No,

What possible reason would you have for doing that ?

Eyesopenwideawake · 20/03/2026 12:44

Because it's a real time record of the funny/touching or character forming moments of their lives.

Maybe. If they need parenting advice themselves. I think may be a good record to refer back to.

TittyGajillions · 20/03/2026 12:48

I don't have children but what an absolutely ridiculous idea.
Most of the threads people post about their kids/husbands/mother in laws etc should never be read!

foreversunshine · 20/03/2026 12:50

No. We are allowed to just be people and not constantly in 'parent-mode'.
If I want to ask questions about my kids, or rant about them or tell funny stories - it's for me.

Italwaysdepends · 20/03/2026 12:53

No because I can't remember my user name from that long ago! And I have re signed up to Mumsnet a few times after a few breaks over the many years.

I used to post more about money and budgeting anyway!

FrenchandSaunders · 20/03/2026 12:54

No. I wouldn't want them to know how I struggled at times with them ... they could take it the wrong way. They are adults now and I wouldn't dream of showing them.

Italwaysdepends · 20/03/2026 12:54

Would you ask the people on Gransnet if they'd ever share their threads about their DILs? 🤣

CaramelBiscuitCake · 20/03/2026 12:57

No because that would strange.

H202too · 20/03/2026 12:57

I have showed her a couple of my facebook statues from 2008 we both cringed.

I was a member of a due in may group on netmums I think dread to think what I wrote. Just remember everyone had flowy signatures and emoji type things.
