Odd window situation, help with curtains needed!

I have just moved in to a 1930ish semi detached property and the front room window is this sort of half bay window that you can see in the attached pic.

Firstly, does anyone know what these are called? Because I can't seem to get any inspiration from Google, but I can't be the only one with these windows?!

Secondly, does anyone have any ideas for alternatives to the current curtain set up? These were left by the previous owner and desperately need replacing as are stained with mouly.

I want to create the illusion of a bay by hanging (long) curtains on the left hand side of the window (see 2nd pic) but I'd have to build out the left side of the wall because of the corner which slightly juts out currently. Any ideas welcome! Thank you!

I would just hang a track from the ceiling in front of the whole thing I think.

It’s called a recessed window, Roman blinds tend to work better than curtains.

The modern detached we moved from last year had a window just like this in the lounge. We had wood effect Venetian blinds and tie back curtains either side for effect. They weren’t really wide enough to close.

I did see a pic of this type of window with roman blinds and that looked pretty good to be honest. I just can't wait to get these down they're so musty!
