Has anyone ever seen an eye infection like this? I haven’t seen lots of red eyes, sticky eyes etc in the past from my children but I’ve never seen actual lumps on the eyeball and swollen glands on the cheek.

Ive already been to the gp who sent us to an urgent eye clinic at the hopsital 2 days ago. They gave her (dd14) drops which I believe are antibiotics and steroids.

But it’s been 2 full days out of 5 and if anything more spots are appearing .
the gland in front of her ear on that side is swollen and tender as well.

I just wondered if anyone had had this sort of infection with a sort of pimple on the eye? How long did it take to heal becuase I think shes a little fed up now!

Ooh, painful looking! When I have had irritated eyes in the past, I’ve had thread like bits come of them, and swollen patches like in the lower lid. And easily that amount of redness. The lump near the iris- is that a blob of mucousy gloopy skin debris or is it a lump of the eye itself?

It’s a lump on the eyeball itself it looks like a blister!

The white patches inside her eyelids are lumps too not pus.

I would go back to the eye clinic if it is still getting worse.

Hi OP, I work in this area. It looks like conjunctival hyperemia extending to the limbus. The white lumps will be enlarged follicles. Keep going with the drops and steroids. How quickly she responds will depend on if bacterial or viral cause but it should be looking better within the next day or two.

Is it allergy related? I have experienced lumps and inflammation like that due to an allergic reaction.

Can the image be blurred please, I have an eyeball and blood fobia and have just had to sit down and have one of my tablets

It was on my newswall actually as I was scrolling. My phone is paired to my TV which is 63" so impossible to avoid. If you had an eye fobia you would understand

I am juat recocerung from an eye infection and corneal ulcer and my eye looked a bit like that. Took 5 days of drips for it to calm down and 2 weejs to get it properly under control. 5 weeks on, just been duscharged by eye hospital.

I’m sorry about that I did put horrifying eye photo in the title to keep people away if they didn’t want to see!
