Mountjaro has stopped my hair growing.

I've been on 5 mg Mountjaro since the end of November. I had my hair cut and coloured a month ago, and since then it hasn't grown at all, I have no roots showing at all and they usually need redoing every six weeks.

Could it be that it's not the WLI but perhaps that you need to rebalance your food intake to ensure you get enough essential nutrients to enable your body to sustain hair growth?

I’ve heard hair issues are a common side effect. If you are reducing your calorie intake you’ll also reduce your nutrition intake unless you actively take steps to avoid it.

I have actually read Mountjaro can dye your hair from the inside. My neighbour had hazelnut brown all her life that turned green after 1 month of jabbing

I'm on Mounjaro and my hair is definitely still growing. I think it may have thinned a bit, but I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism which is probably what has caused that.

Focusispower · 20/03/2026 14:11

My hair really thinned on Mounjaro. Like 3x as much coming out in the shower as would have done prior. And definitely grew more slowly. It has stopped shedding now I have stopped but it was quite alarming at the time. I didn’t lose rapidly either but was very measured a with a good balanced diet, and only taking the lowest dose. It may also have been a triple whammy with low iron/vitamin D and perimenopause though!

🤣

I lost a lot of hair on Mounjaro. And I didn’t have much to start with, but it definitely was still growing as I was still dying my grey roots. I put the hair loss down to rapid weight loss rather than the jobs themselves.
Now I’m off them and maintaining my hair has started to get thicker again.

What rubbish 🙄

I would consider that our hair grows slower in the winter? I think. I had my roots died at the end of December and I’m just now getting a touch up (although I should have done it a few weeks ago).

Actually VioletandMauve it's true I seen it with my own eyes. My other neighbour further down the street has been jabbing for 2 months and her hair is Violet and Mauve
