What does it feel like to not have to spend money on anyone else?

I’ve got another decade before my youngest is an adult and I’ve already been doing it for 15 years but did you have a sudden realisation that all you pay is for you again instead of your kids? I can’t imagine not having to buy their food, clothes, bus fare, subscriptions, school trips.

Other things fill the space: hairdressing to deal with the greys, good skin care, extra, regular trips to visit aging parents, weddings........
