Standard Passport Renewal current times

If you have recently applied for a passport renewal, how long did it take?

Took 4 days last month

They are very quick right now! Even applying from abroad for a first time passport was surprisingly speedy!

That's reassuring! Anyone else?

3 1/2 weeks, it's due to be delivered tomorrow. Renewal of children's to adult.

I did an online renewal application yesterday and I’ve sent in my old passport today.
Can I ask how which service any of you used to send your expired passport(s)?

The site suggested using a signed for service so I asked in the post office for Tracked 24 Signed For or whatever it’s called but the assistant was really pushing Special Delivery at around £10. I didn’t really want to pay that much (it’s been an expensive week) so went with the Tracked/signed service but she’s even written on the proof of postage that she advised using Special Delivery.

2 and a half weeks last month.

Update.
Applied 18th March online (evening).
Posted passport first class signed for on the 19th. Arrived 20th.
Had notification today that it's been approved.
Just needs printing and posting.

Notification it had arrived 31/03
Approved 01/04, awaiting printing.

Just a note to say fees rise from 8th April from £94.50 to £102 for adults.

10 days from online application to Mr postman delivering. Applied on 10th March.

Mine was very similar last month…maybe even quicker! My old passport was returned about 10 days later.
Fantastic service I’m just disappointed that it’s blue!

Does anyone know or have experience of dual nationals with two passports with a very small variant on the name spelling? Do both passports need to match 100%?

For example
GeorgeTaylor on one passport
Georgios Taylor on the other passport

I'm thrilled it's blue, hope it's the 'proper' blue, not some garish blue. Should have stayed blue IMO. 🤣

I applied online on 14th March and received my passport today (just under 3 weeks). I did my children’s the day after but their’s have been a bit delayed as their photos were rejected (too shadowy). Once I uploaded new photos they were approved within minutes and have been printed the day after that.

Yep about a week. Brilliant service.

Applied online and sent off old passport Special Deliver on Wednesday last week, 25th. New passport through my letterbox on Saturday, 28th.

I never liked the shade of red.
One of our sons has a blue one, it’s pretty much the same as the old blue passport colour. Much prefer it to the red.

New passports are a navy blue so dark it looks black.

It arrived this morning! (& my old one) so posted late Friday afternoon, arrived Thursday morning.

Yes, it's very dark, but still better than the horrible EU colour.

Mine arrived this morning, so it’s taken six days from applying to being delivered (and I posted the expired one on Saturday afternoon and missed the last collection).

Mine took 13 days.
