Outdoor toys for the win…

The sun is shining, Spring is springing and the children are ready for 6 months of me saying ‘it’s lovely outside, why don’t you…..?’ every time they go near the TV.

We have a little tradition of gifting outdoor toys as an Easter gift. What are your absolute summer-long winners? My children are 9 & 6 and we’ve tried quite a lot of stuff shared below.

Our winners;
trampoline
huge beach ball
bikes / scooters
football / goals
bouncy balls
Bubbles
reusable water bombs
skipping ropes and hoops
frisbee

also tried;
pump rocket (loved for 5 mins and then broken / lost etc)
rounders bat

I got a foam plane launcher from Amazon which is great fun.

Also ‘sticky dodgeball’ - although can easily turn a bit violent.

@MidnightPatrol thank you. Will look up stick dodgeball (warning notes 😆). We’ve had the foam rocket launcher but they get so quickly lost or the blue tube wanders off etc. I thought they’d be solid for us but lasted 2 days 🤷‍♀️

Spikeball?
Otherwise mine have enjoyed an elaborate pulley system - homemade but good fun. The move stuff all around the garden on it like a series of cable cars.

Swing ball

Will look spikeball up. Swingball is a definite possibility - is there a particularly robust sort (many look a bit plastic these days). @Muckypig that sounds amazing - did you
make it? X

@fruitfly3 yep, our garden is on a slight slope so we have a couple of pulley wheels at the top and bottom for a cable car type thing and then a hoist system as well. All sorts gets sent up and down 😂
