Car hire - damage waiver insurance - recommendations please

Do you select the hire company extra insurance? Or do you get additional insurance from a 3rd party insurer?
and if yes. Who?!

any recommendations ? The extra insurance via the car hire company seems high and I’m sure my STBX DH would get the insurance from someone else. I just don’t know where. Nor what to search for!

Look for Insurance for hire cars
We usd to use Insurance4hire but I think it was bought by Swinton
We hire cars abroad 4 or 5 times a year so get n annual policy and its much more comprehensive and cheaper than the ones the Hire Companies try and sell you

And did actually claim on it once when hire got broken into and they were fine
