The Coldplay Kiss Cam lady interviewed on Oprah Winfrey’s podcast raises so many issues

I’ve just watched this - it’s on you tube, and it raises so many issues i’d love to see what others think, My main takeaways:
Looks like this is a story as old as time: woman confides she’s in a difficult place going through a divorce, man claims the same to get close when (it seems) that was not the case. Do we believe he was ever going to go to the board about their putative relationship?!
Woman gets slaughtered whilst man faces far less kickback
I do suspect she experienced the opposite of pretty privilege: pretty kickback maybe, have to admit the fact these two were picture perfect probably made me laugh more at the time
She clearly will never ever forgive Paltrow - her face when oprah mentioned she’s not replied to Gwyneth’s email! She managed not to say anything but you could see her contempt! Although ironically she was therefore holding a woman to account more, just like this whole story.
It’s a good watch - challenges the viewer to consider their (my!) reaction at the time - and now.

She's milking her 15 minutes of fame and fair play if that's what she's into.

I'm not sure she got 'slaughtered' any more than he did.

I havent seen this, whats the context, why is she being interviewed. Whats Gynneth Paltrow got to do with it?

It had pretty much blown over now why is she keen to keep it in the spotlight?

Shortly after the event she could have said something to clarify her position (divorced/seperated/not the bad guy here) or nothing. She choose to say nothing so why speak now?

And also whats Gwyneth got to do with it?

I expect she'll be on every show and in every magazine that'll have her, until no-one's interested anymore.

wow these first posts just demonstrate the vitriol towards her. it’s really worth watching the oprah podcast, it corrects a lot of the things we assumed that were wrong. eg @PoshLady90her husband DID release a statement saying they were separated but that is not remembered. However the CEO failed to say the same about his relationship with- perhaps as he lied and said he was separated?

What 'vitriol' is in any of the posts above?

The woman was separated but then started seeing her boss… you don’t really do that.
The guy was a lech, and cheating on his wife. But he also got pretty shredded by the press so I don’t see how she got it any worse?

Also can’t see the logic n the OP. The pair of them were slaughtered, not her over him. The fact is, he played his part and she played her part. It’s a bit disingenuous to say she did nothing wrong because she was separated. He was her boss and she was the head of HR so well aware both of their actions was inappropriate.

Normal people would will this to blow over to get on with life. Why she’s going on podcasts continuing the drama is beyond odd. Is he also involved in a continuing media roadshow?

I don’t understand why she didn’t say they were both separated at the time? Why wait until now. If they were both separated they had nothing to hide.

What the heck is 'pretty kickback'?

The woman usually does get slaughtered while the man gets a bit of throat clearing before that, but in this case I think they both got equally vilified... and while what they did was wrong, very few people have to deal with this kind of consequence. There were over 50,000 people at that concert, no way they were the only two having an affair.

She ought to stop feeding the beast. It's just a shame that the internet never forgets. Time was that it would have been the proverbial chip paper.

The Astronomer ad with Paltrow was brilliant marketing. It dealt with an HR scandal with humor and made the point that the company wanted to get back to business. Hiring Paltrow was just smart. She is recognizable and had a connection.

I don’t really understand why someone would be offended at a their employer’s attempts to control the fallout from their own actions. The employer didn’t go on a smear campaign. The company just said, yep, it happened, let’s move on.

It's not vitriolic to point out she's milking this for all it's worth.

And fair play, while she can if it makes her happy or brings a few quid her way.

Someone with such poor taste as to like Coldplay should be in hiding not going onto tv shows.

And kiss cams are so old fashioned it says a lot about Coldplay.

If they were both separated, why duck down like that?

Gwyneth Paltrow used to be married to the Coldplay singer didn't she? Do we think Astronomer deliberately picked her to make some kind of subconscious reference or was it completely unintentional?
