Is anyone else getting a multitude of sizes offered on Vinted, even though they ticked the correct size box?

I haven't used Vined often since the ridiculous sizing overhaul but I have an event coming up that I need a nice outfit for but don't want to spend loads, so I thought I'd pop on and grab something off there.

I ticked the correct size range box but still ended up with FIVE different sizes, ranging from 8 to 22! Most listings didn't include an individual photo of the label so I was trying to zoom in on the original photo to see what size it said but that just ended up pixilated and unreadable. I have messaged a couple of sellers to ask for clarification but they haven't yet replied, and again this feels like unnecessary faff for both of us.

I think I'll just have to take a punt on something I like being the right size and then send it back if it's not, but the whole process has been needlessly frustrating. Why on earth Vinted chose to wreck their completely workable site is beyond me.

Yep. it’s a nightmare. It’s basically made the site unusable afaic because I’m not prepared to spend hours, on what should be, a 10 min search.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 16/03/2026 18:22

Have you tried searching just for "top size 14" etc, then filtering for brand etc? I find this produces marginally better results.

But yes, they've really fucked it IMO. Such hard work to get the size you want.

IMO the best solution would be to have all the sizes separate and individual and you could tick as many as applied. E.g. 12, 14 and L if it was 12-14/L on the label, or just 14 if it were 14 on the label.

buymeaboaanddrivemetoreno · 16/03/2026 18:25

I tried to report someone for advertising a size 16-18 at the weekend and the item was clearly pictured with a label that said 14. I am giving up on vinted I think! It’s too much like hard work!

saraclara · 16/03/2026 18:26

It's a total mess. I'm so sick of clicking on items I'm interested in, only to find that they're the size below mine. Why they've doubled up the sizes I have no idea.

TheChicDreamer · 16/03/2026 18:29

I hate the new system. I’ll see something I like and then click on it to find it’s the wrong size. And typically, the size I’m NOT always seems to be more prevalent too.

Funnily enough that was what I ended up doing. Initially I thought that had cracked it but when I clicked on the photo (where luckily the seller had included a label picture) it was a completely different size 🤦.

The individual size listing options were so much better. As the PP said it's almost unusable now. I used to take about 10 minutes to find stuff but last night I was on there for best part of two hours!

Oh my god don't get me started on the sizing, no idea why they’ve done this. Used to be a simple search now it’s annoying and time consuming.

It's always something that I really love that is the wrong size too. If they just showed the correct sizes I'd never have to know what I'm missing!

I'm relieved it's not just me! I thought the new system just meant you were getting two different sizes to scroll through. Couldn't believe I was getting pretty much every size available, which made ticking the box pretty redundant.

Yes, and it’s useless.
I may not be after a certain brand, and searching women’s tops size 10 brings up s, m, 10, 8-10 and 12-14. That’s 5 different sizing categories, when what I want is only to look at size 10.

I've given up on Vinted.
I've had some great buys from there but I've had enough and uninstall the app.

I'm very tempted to do the same but I am holding out hope they'll see the error of their ways (because I can't believe they haven't seen a dip in traffic or sales).

Also Ebay is way overpriced for clothing IMO and my local charity shops are useless unless you want to buy a Primark top for more than it cost brand new.

Vinted said that the update, which only applies to UK users, makes the site more accurate. It said: “Now, the sizes you see on these listings will be more accurate, especially for items purchased from other countries or international brands,” the BBC reports.

More accurate? Who are they trying to kid? And who buys Vinted clothes from other countries anyway?

Vinted's overnight sizing changes have caused controversy with some UK users threatening to leave the platform.

Absolutely!!
I have realised I have more clothes than anyone needs and it's done me favour.
It's easy to think ' oh, it's only 3 quid' and get carried away but the ony £3's add up.
I'm even avoiding Primark!! Same issue of 'it's only.......'

Appaloosa2000 · 16/03/2026 20:25

Yes. I accidentally bought a pair of size 8 trousers. I am a 12. And they were advertised as 12. But they were pull and bear and aren’t English sizing.

PearlsTeapot · 16/03/2026 21:23

Drives me mad. I don’t want to see 16/18 I only want to see 18s! Surely this has affected them?

Greedybilly · 16/03/2026 21:55

So annoying. Why have they changed it?

If you click on my link a few posts up, it's explained

Lastofthesummerwines · 16/03/2026 22:26

I've been trying to shop on vinted for a few summer bits and I've give up. I have no idea what size anything is or meant to be.. It would help if sellers were to put in their listing the actual label size. Why is it so difficult. Surely as part of your listing you write... New Look green top , size 14 ? Grrrr. Some people do a listing with 2 words. Black top . Why? It's sooo annoying.

SilenceInside · 16/03/2026 22:28

@AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta if you haven’t already, in your profile, go to the Personalisation section. You can then choose a size or sizes that you’re interested in. Also brands, and so on. Those will then be prioritised on your feed before you do any searches, and when you do a search. In the same section, there is a History list that shows you items that you’ve viewed. These are also used to tailor search results for you. You can remove items from the History list if they aren’t the right sort of item that you’re interested in.

I was getting so irritated by this the other day. People listing things as an xl when it’s a size 12. I don’t know if it’s a vinted problem but it’s driving me nuts! When I list I put the size in the title and take a pic of the label! Anyone reading this who doesn’t please start!

busymomtoone · 17/03/2026 18:46

I used to love Vinted but their new system encourages chaos. Someone wrongly sent me a 12 labelled as 16 ; and another a suit where jacket was 16 but in small print it said trousers were a 12!!! The whole sizing seems random and so many listed wrongly. Also I am borderline 12/14 in some brands - but I either click 10/12 ( no 10 would ever fit!!) or 14/16 and most 16s swim on me. It’s v frustrating

SilenceInside · 17/03/2026 18:55

The wrong listings are usually old listings from before the forced change and auto listing update last year. That update changed size categories on listings resulting in items being in the wrong category.

As a buyer, I don’t buy anything where I can’t see the size label clearly, and I check the brand website where possible for size guidance.

As a seller, I state the UK size, eg UK14, in the title and in the product listing description. I will also provide specific measurements if I think the sizing is still unclear, as well as describing the fabric and showing the materials label so buyers can judge stretch/give.

You are my favourite kind of seller!
I don't understand why when they brought the stupid size changes in they didn't also make it mandatory for sellers to include a photo of the size label.
