Post boxes blocked- anyone know why and any solutions?

The post box at the end of my road is blocked up so havent been able to post letters this week. I went in to the village high street at the weekend and that one is also blocked off. Anyone know why this might be and how I can post letters? Bit gutted as I've already stuck the stamps on so will be a waste of money!

They’re converting them to be parcel boxes so you can drop off parcels and letters.

Our nearest is also blocked off, it has a notice on saying it’s’s going to be changed over to a new digital box, but nothing has happened in 6 weeks. Fortunately the one outside our post office is still there and there is one outside our big Tesco.

Ok any clue what we do in the meantime?

They are going to look awful and destroy our lovely postboxes.

Ok so a trip in to town? Ridiculous in rural and semi rural locations. We have lots of elderly people here who use the post box who won't travel up in to town.

When this was being done to the post boxes near where I live I took my post to the Post Office and they took it. If you've got a Royal Mail depot nearby they'll probably take it too.

Nothing nearby sadly. Certainly not in walking distance so unless you have a car, you're stuck!

If you’re at home when your postie is delivering, it’s worth asking them. My local postbox has been out of action for several weeks and the postie took the item I wanted to post.

All the parcel postboxes round here also have an original postbox right next to them so letters don't get mixed up with the parcels.
I post lots of parcels and think they're great 🙂

The one near me doesn’t look much different, just the slot is larger.
Ours was out of action for about a month if I remember right

Ours was updated. It was shut off for about 8 weeks.

I used one of these new fangled postboxes recently, I was so pleased with myself. It was a bit of a faff, weighing the item, printing the label, but I felt confident that it would be quicker than going to the PO which needs a special trip. It took a week and a half to arrive to just another area in London and no tracking was available. Bloody useless
