Laundry, washing machine and soaking - help.

I am up late tonight. About an hour ago I started a wash in the machine. It was a quick wash on 30 degrees. Not a huge load.

I came across a tip online before and that was to start a wash and after it's started, let the drum turn the clothes a few times and then press pause. That will allow the clothes to soak. Then after a while, unpause it and let the cycle continue.

I remember pausing the machine.

About 10 minutes ago I went to the toilet and came back into the kitchen where the washing machine is and the machine said it was at 0. However I don't remember unpausing the machine or cycle. I opened the door and it did look like the stuff spun. Theres no water in the drum. The clothes are not sopping.

I was working at the kitchen table before I went to the bathroom so I wasn't fully aware of what was happening with the machine.

I am just wondering if the machine was on pause for a while, did the machine just drain the drum and turned the cycle time to 0 or did the machine just finish the cycle. Maybe I unpause it hit I just can't remember.

How is anyone to ever know?

Does it really matter? If the clothes are clean and ready to dry, just carry on your life.

There was someone inside the washing machine, just waiting for you to turn your back. 😀
