Spare cardie in the workplace loo

I’ve been to two offices recently where there has been a long black cardigan hanging up in the ladies’ loo with a note saying anyone who’s in need can borrow it (presumably meaning to cover a bloodstain).

Is this a thing now? Seems like a good idea. Would love to know if it’s common.

How bizarre, no never heard of that. Possibly if one soils their self? Did you notice who it was made by and did you try it on?

I keep one at work just in case, but that includes getting cold!

I saw this once - annoyingly I can’t remember where, definitely not at work but maybe another workplace I was visiting?

Seemed very unlikely it would be needed (it was enormous, more of a woollen dressing gown) but I appreciated the sentiment.

Well I would hope anyone who does need to borrow it takes it home and washes it before replacing in the loo.

We have a communal black cardigan at work...it's for if someone is chilly.

Not something we have in our workplace but there is free tampons/towels.
I come prepared with spare clothes as I’m prone to completely flooding, it’s not unusual for me to change my bottom half several times during my working day, my colleague called me mr ben as I come out of the loo in different clothes frequently 😂 also the free Sanpro doesn’t cut it for me, I need industrial strength.
Not sure how I feel about the cardi hanging up in the loo tbh, would wonder how many hands had been wiped on it!

Not in mine but I have brought my long my long black cardie for a colleague who had a flood

buffyrevival · 15/03/2026 22:03

No but there’s only 2 of us! We do have extra clothes as our workplace is cold, and I keep M&S stain removal wipes in my bag

This made me lol although poor you - I have been there with work flooding.

I have gone to fetch coats for colleagues if needed

Usernamenotfound1 · 15/03/2026 22:13

I wouldn’t assume it’s specifically for bloodstains, but for accidents such as spills, dropping food, pens in pockets leaking etc as well.

got a meeting after lunch and spilt your soup down your front type of occasion, or leant on the kitchen counter which had tea spilled on it.
