First Mother’s Day without my mum

Anyone else?

My mum died suddenly and unexpectedly last summer, aged 61. I am dreading Mother’s Day tomorrow. My DS is 8 and he is so buzzing, can’t wait to give me a card & gifts and I feel so lucky and blessed to have him.

But I just really miss my Mum. :(

I lost my mum 2 years ago. Its really hard. Allow yourself the grace to feel sad. Have a cry. Remember your lovely mum. But also take time to celebrate being a mum. Big hugs

61? So young. I’m sure it’s tough. Hope you can enjoy your day.

The firsts are tough .
This is my first Mothers Day without my Mum too , but she was in her late eighties with poor health and dementia so very different scenario to you @historyinthemaking

Your DS wants to make Mothers Day special for you which is lovely . Yes you can talk to him about his gran , it will be heart breaking and time to reflect .

Enjoy the day with your son, and if he buys you chocolate or sweets , y'know , share Wink
I am sure it gets easier with time .
