Purplecatshopaholic · 14/03/2026 10:37

Awesome song. Play it in the car all the time.

RobinInTheCrabApple · 14/03/2026 10:46

This is my husband's ring tone.
Saw them play it live. So loud I was deaf for three days.

frankie001 · 14/03/2026 10:46

I am Motörhead deaf after seeing them do this live! Amazing!!

Nourishinghandcream · 14/03/2026 10:47

Love it!👍

I remember it getting its first play on the Radio 1 breakfast show in 1980 (DLT?) and it was what we all spoke about at school that morning.

thebabessavedme · 14/03/2026 10:47

This is what will be playing (very loudly) as my coffin goes down

I dont wanna live forever.

thebabessavedme · 14/03/2026 10:48

saw them live so many times, including the Hawkwind era, fantastic

pardon😂

same in 1983 when I saw them - three rows from the front - at the Hammersmith Odeon. It was their four piece era as I recall.

I saw them at The Granary in Bristol when I was at college. My friend asked Lemmy for a kiss and he happily obliged.

Never got to see Motorhead live.☹️

Saw Hawkwind (my first ever concert) but my Dmum would not allow me to go to the local Bomber gig (1980) as I had a mock GCSE the next day.

Hawkwind was my first ever gig too. Hammersmith Odean around ‘86.

Google tells me Lemmy was fired from Hawkwind for a drugs offence… got to laugh at that. Would be like getting kicked out of the happy Mondays for taking too many pills…

I did see "The Enid" at Reading in 1983 ,,,,

MrsHaroldWilson · 14/03/2026 11:54

I prefer Orgasmatron.

Sorry😆

thebabessavedme · 14/03/2026 22:22

Oh my word! Must have ben very late 70s early 80s, I was knocking around with a load of bikers (married one of them!) We used to hire a transit van, put cushions etc in the back, as many of us could fit in, the least stoner would drive😂

I have spent this evening explaining to my DGS why he may not have a motorcycle

Evasmissingletter · 14/03/2026 22:31

Google….. Motorhead’s The Ace of Spades played on the church bells 😃

DappledThings · 14/03/2026 22:33

You can never go home Oatman. But I guess you can shop there.

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 14/03/2026 22:38

First heard this when they performed it on The Young Ones….total banger! 🤘🏻

CelticSilver · 14/03/2026 22:39

The Young Ones' version is my favourite!

24Dogcuddler · 14/03/2026 22:39

Ace of Spades played as the soundtrack to the creamy muck muck fight at the end of Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow. My youngest daughter loved it!
