I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in not my morning spot, in complete silence. I'd still be asleep but both cats were fussing around me for their breakfast 🙄. Girl cat's gone and snuggled up with one of the girls, boy cat's lounging in the front window - it catches the sun most of the day so he's toasty warm.

Today's plan is to head to B&M and The Range for some things we need here & a couple of the things I want to replace. I also want to start looking for decorating inspiration. I think it'll feel more like home if it's how we want it to look, rather than plain, white, walls. I need to do a small shop too - probably at the local small Asda - we're running on fumes. Not sure if dd2 is coming with me, or staying here to revise 🤷‍♀️.

Dd1's home to work but has secured herself a hospitality job at Wembley Stadium so will also have some income from there. She doesn't start til 2pm so is still asleep for now.

This evening will probably be more unpacking, followed by showers, and an hour with my book before heading to bed so I'm up earlyish again tomorrow to crack on with more boxes.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning all, must have missed a few weekends as you’re now in your new place @lucysmam - happy to hear that!

I was out for a swim first thing, checked the forecast and it was due to be gloriously sunny which felt like a good reason to set an early alarm! Home now, showered and hair dry and looking nice for a change 😂 dh and ds are out at football, will have bacon baguettes when they’re home. Think my dad is popping across too having also watched the football.

then going out for lunch and a walk with a friend while dh and ds go to our local football match. Got to get mum some flowers for tomorrow, dh got his mum some bits for her allotment already.

Not sure what our dinner plans will be this evening but I’m hoping for an early bedtime as I’m up early for another swim tomorrow (had booked that one already with a friend, this morning was a spontaneous solo trip).

happy Saturday all!

Good morning @lucysmam and all. Hope you’re settling in and your new place starts to feel like home soon.
I’ve been for my morning trot and chat with a stop off for coffee - so lovely to see the sun and have a good catch up.
Manic cleaning will ensue as soon as I’ve finished my porridge and mustered some enthusiasm - the house is a tip and we’ve got a house full of family later to watch rugby. Ds doesn’t have a game so a rare weekend off from that, but the 6 nations has segued in nicely to fill the gap. I’d rather be gardening, but such is life.
Pulled pork is already on so I just need to prepare the sides later. My sis and SIL are in charge of pudding.
Happy Saturday everyone!

Morning @lucysmamand all. Due to carnage left by builders this week (massive complaint lodged…) I spent all of Thursday and Friday deep cleaning. The plus side is that when I woke up today there wasn’t actually that much housework left at all! I’ve folded some laundry and tidied away some last bits of clutter, and DP will take the bins out soon, but I think that should tide us over for the weekend.

Have been to the shop briefly to pick up some weekend supplies and flowers for my mum, and need to get in the car to meet my family for lunch shortly.

By the time I get back this afternoon my mother in law will have arrived to stay for the weekend. We’re taking her to a favourite French restaurant of ours this evening, and expect there will be some wine at home over a game of scrabble afterwards. Looking forward to it!

Have a lovely day all.

Glad to hear youre settling into your new home!!! Lovely.

Im 32 weeks pregnant now and thinking to myself 37w is just 5 weeks away (baby number 7 could come earlier) and she could come then. We have already settled on a name now. And ive pretty much organised everything except for crib sheets, baby towels and a hospital bag as well as knickers for me after giving birth. Just your basic big black pack of full briefs!!!!!! So will be having a look at those today.

Kids are procuppied today with gaming and puzzles and the odd chore. Did a major clean yesterday (nesting) literally went for it in the kitchen that i knackered myself out and so not much to do housework wise today apart from folding away dry laundry and changing beds.

Lunch will be tuna and cheese toasties/jam sandwiches.
Dinner is a full roast. I cant wait till tomorrow. We're talking roasted chicken for me and the kids (lamb for the man of my world) roast potatoes, cheesy mash, brocolli and yorkshire puddings !!!!! Swimming in gravy! I found asdas 60p chicken gravy identical to a £3 cost of Bisto chicken gravy!

Have a lovely weekend lucysmam and everyone else.

Good Saturday morning, y’all. I’m still in bed scrolling MN but I’m about to get up to have breakfast. I think I’ll take it easy today and have a proper restful day instead of trying to cram everything in. iPad games will be played and podcasts will be listened to.

I will throw on a hot towel/sheets wash though and will take the time to make a proper vat of chili in the Dutch oven this afternoon. I also want to bake a chocolate loaf cake too so we have desserts for the next few days. Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

Glad you are getting settled in, LucysMam.

Lovely weekend planned here. Today is Mother's Day P1 - The One Where We Go Out Out. DD has booked a lovely restaurant in town, so cocktails and dinner today. P2 is a lazy day at home tomorrow with a roast dinner and a new jigsaw puzzle.

Good morning everyone from a gloriously sunny spot in north Wiltshire, beautiful morning here.
I walked tiddler early then cracked on with cleaning the bedrooms and upstairs. I even dusted the light shade over the bed 🫣
Two loads of washing on the line, a third one in the machine.
I need to tackle the kitchen next, the living room isn’t too bad.
Isn’t it lovely to have sunshine?

Whatarewecountingdownfor · 14/03/2026 11:29

Morning ! Just finished my second cup of tea in bed.

did have to get up to make the second one and I did wash up and hang the washing out at the same time so not completely lazy ….

I have a little bit of painting that needs finishing that I might do , plus a door to gloss.

I need to take apart and unclog my rubbish shark vacuum (Henry I miss you please forgive me for ‘upgrading’) but I need to get the screwdriver out to do it

I want to read my book 50 page target, also I plan to make some content for my booktok page for the week.

one kid is at work until midnight, husband until 11 and the other one has gone on the bus to town with his friend to get the free Mother’s Day daffodils from Asda which is quite sweet.

Up since 05.00 after having a wisdom tooth out on Thursday. No real pain, but a dull constant ache.
Trying and failing to eat, but only able to nibble on my front teeth.
I'm starved.
Walked doggo around the block and met a neighbour who was curious about the huge bruise I have under my chin and swelling.
I gently put her right as she suspected DV.
Shortly will mow the lawn and tidy the kitchen ready for a potential lodger to view.

Morning all!

Beautiful day here but unfortunately not well (raging cystitis). Boyfriend stayed over last night (daughter is at her dad's till tomorrow) and is staying tonight - he took me to pick up antibiotics this morning and do a small Aldi shop.

Making a cake to take over to mom's with my daughter tomorrow m, and will make us a chicken and vegetable lasagne in a bit, when I can summon the effort.

The cat woke me a 6:30 by pressing her cold nose onto my warm one ( not sure whether to be pleased by this sign of affection, as she is a rescue cat and very skittish generally, or annoyed at the early wake up!). So I am quire tired now - may even go back to bed for a bit! Planning a lot of reading too, and general indolence.

Have a great day all!

Late to the party again! Really busy day. DH & I were awake really early so I made a cuppa for us both to have in bed & I ate the last Tunnocks bar. Only bought them yesterday! DH had a shower then I went in & did the full works, including a scalp massage. Blow dried my hair using my new Denman brush - thanks Boots Advantage points! DH went to work for 11 & I popped out to do errands - ended up taking over 2 hours. I posted a Vinted parcel, did some shopping at Asda, went to the chemist, returned piano music to the library (luckily you can’t get fined anymore as I’ve had it out since before Christmas!) & collected some free books. There’s a Facebook page where folks in a village near me advertise stuff to give away. I’ve had some nice bits. Afterwards, I drove down into the village itself - if the weather had been better I would have had a bimble round the shops but it was hailing heavily so I just went into Boots as I hadn’t been able to get what I needed from the chemist earlier. Home for a bit then went to see my folks with DD17. DBro is staying & needed a break from caring. He went out for an hour or so. DF very kindly paid for a new I Pad for DD to help with her studies. Back home, I did a few chores including the dishwasher. Was planning to hoover up the rabbit poo but 2 of the bunnies came in so I’ll do it another time. Tea will be prawn stir fry using a readymade pack, fresh egg noodles & lemon sauce. No BGT tonight so DH has suggested watching Notting Hill. Haven’t read the thread yet so hope everyone’s having a good Saturday 🙂
