It's been 3 months since I had a gastroscope. They took biospies for coeliac disease as I have been suffering from digestive issues for years which have been getting worse and recent blood tests showed a low IgA level.
I have chased it three times already only to be told by the secretary nothing had come back but the last time I checked (over 2 weeks ago) she said the results were back and they had been handed to the gastroenterologist to look at yet I still haven't had a letter and there is nothing on my hospital patient portal account.
The problem I have is I had to eat gluten every day before the procedure to ensure I didn't received a false negative. I since gone strictly gluten free in the hope it would help me as it does appear to help so many but I am really struggling as I can not stomach most gluten free products, I follow a low fodmap diet already and many gf products contain high fodmap ingredients. I also have ARFID and find the taste and texture of many GF products simply disgusting if I am honest.
I am also not getting any relief from my issues having gone gf but I would like to know for sure if I am ceoliac before re-introducing gluten.
I hate being that annoying patient who is forever contacting the secretary but surely 3 months is long enough? Should I keep chasing?
