I’m looking for recommendations for a gothic novel suitable for 11-12 year olds - apart from Coraline! Thanks!

Possibly The Ghost of Thomas Kempe by Penelope Lively.

Coram Boy, by Jamila Gavin?

A series of unfortunate events has some gothic elements while being ok for y7 (orphans, good vs evil, dilapidated and decaying houses, violence, grim actions, sense of fear)

Another great suggestion! Many thanks.

We use Clockwork by Phillip Pullman in Year 6 and get some great writing from it. It’s a shorter novel but our kids love it.
