Liza Tarbuck leaving Radio 2 show

After a protracted break she's decided to leave and get her weekends back. We've been regular listeners, but were saying last Saturday that we really like Shaun Keaveney, who's been covering. Shaun to stay!

I’m both a bit wistful about this, having enjoyed her show, and have to admit I haven’t listened for a long time. Hope she’s ok.

I remember hearing it accidentally for the first time and being completely befuddled, then the second time I got it. I liked the world she created out of nothing. Love radio.

Oh, we love her and her bonkers show.

Aah that’s sad, I love LT, she makes me proper laugh out loud!
I’ve often thought she’d be great at having a weekday time slot.
Hope she’s ok.

Will miss the eclectic music she played. Really hope Shaun Keaveny doesn't take her slot - he is depressing to listen to whereas Liza was uplifting.

Ages ago she was on covering for someone in the afternoon…get her on then.
Going to miss her. She’s been doing the show for 20 years or so.

I think Shaun's in a similar vein, just more low key. He's also a good fit for the variety of music on the show.

We'll have to agree to disagree - he's not depressing at all.

Used to love Shaun on 6 breakfast so might well give this a go.

Only discovered Lisa’s show a few months ago, became the radio highlight of the week. I feel quite upset to be deprived of her. I like SK, but just not the same.

I wish her well however... I couldn't stand her as a presenter on R2. I hope this means I encounter her less.

I think she’s brilliant. Unique in her style and warmth. I hope she does house of games or something instead

I'm delighted she's going as I didn't like her show at all but SK's voice just about sends me to sleep.

I'm so sad . Hers is just about the only radio show I make a positive effort to listen to. It really helped me through that cooking on a Saturday evening slot (which I hate having to do).

Am a bit gutted, but will be OK if they keep Shaun on. I find him really laid back, funny and interesting and he also seems on board with the play list plus he read out my small claims the other night.

This is a catastrophe, as Liza's show was by far the best 2 hours of the radio week. I understand that she'd like her Saturdays back after 14 years, but she will be so missed.
Shaun K is OK, but he's not Liza - she's irreplaceable.

Will miss her and her great music choices - although my DDs used to say they found her really annoying. Can’t stand Shaun Keavney and his annoying, muttering voice - like an irritating fly buzzing in the background. Needs to be someone with a bit of joy for Saturday night. Mel Gedroyc (sp) for instance

Liza Tarbuck was the last reason I had to tune into Radio 2

I know she's had trouble with her leg (broken?) and travelling while recuperating must have been a pain, but she really was the last reason I had to tune into a station I used to listen to for hours every day.

I wish her well, but I'll be sorry to see her go 😭

I feel the same really. My favourite shows in recent years have been Graham Norton, Claudia Winkelman, Paul O'Grady and Ken Bruce! Radio 2 is changed beyond recognition .

Can I go against my principles, because I don't think we should judge people by how they look, and say that Liza Tarbuck looks absolutely lovely.

She looks and sounds so warm and friendly.

Oh, I will miss this! Her R2 show was like a lovely warm blanket that makes you smile. I have always liked her and her father also always came over as warm.

Maybe she had to leave R2 because she has got the Strictly presenter job 🤷🏻

Loved Liza Tarbuck she made my Saturday night, especially after my partner passed away,listen every week..But she deserves her... Saturday too..Hope Shaun takes over.

Aw just found out this evening while listening to Shaun.

Really missed her show these past few weeks but Shaun is growing on me. He plays decent music too.

Yes I miss all those shows.

Saturdays are really not the same especially now Liza has gone. I do like Gary’s show after Liza’s slot but Saturday afternoon is dire.
