Holiday prices all jumped up as I’m viewing them!

We’re booked to go to Cyprus in a few months, all paid for but with the current situation I’d rather just change to somewhere else. I haven’t been abroad since I was tiny, it’ll just be DS and I going so I’m a bit paranoid about ending up somewhere awful. I don’t have a big budget and I spent ages researching this holiday. This is a big luxury for us, it won’t be something we can do every year and I’ve had to work hard to get the money together. Spent many hours yesterday and today researching and shortlisting down new ones - had a handful saved in my shortlist on TUI, picked one and within 5 minutes every single holiday in my shortlist was “no longer available” but is now showing for £500+ more 😭. I know this is such a first world problem, especially with the current climate but I’m so frustrated! I’m hoping if I just don’t look for the next day or two they will come back down - is that being too optimistic?

There is always greedy profiteering at times like this and there are many people who cannot afford a holiday of any kind. I would stick with my original plans. It will probably all be yesterdays news by then.

It doesn't hurt to clear cookies, look on an incognito tab or maybe try a different computer, in case they are inflating the price as they see you coming back to it.

Though most likely yes. supply and demand at the moment. We were buying a holiday yesterday evening and I noticed availability on TUI was quite volatile.

Use someone else’s phone when booking. They track you and can see when you’re interested so put the prices up.
