Help me with my skin and hair!

I need help!

I'm turning 41 next month and I've noticed my hair doesn't have any shine left in it after washing it. No bounce. Looks and feels greasy and lifeless. I've always had good hair with plenty of shine and silk, until recently.

I'm most likely peri now (or the start of it). My skin is the same. Looks a bit dull, make-up never sits right. They have gone and changed my favourite foundation after 20 years of me using it. Great!

If anyone can please recommend a decent foundation. I have used Estee Lauder double wear Fresco all my life and need a replacement. And recommend a good shampoo and conditioner please (currently using Loreal shampoo and Elvive conditioner) for context.

I'm happy to pay a premium.

Thank you

I moved to Maria Nila for hair and Lisa Eldridge for foundation. Trouble is they may not suit you. For hair stuff, try and buy a few trial sizes, maybe on Vinted. I joined the liberty beauty drop to get loads of samples. For skin your best bet is several trips to your nearest department store to try stuff out.

I could have typed this myself, right now to the fresco double wear. Ive still got some of the original left but have been seeing the awful reviews of the new formulation. Hopefully some one can help us 🙏

I use 'Aussie' shampoo and conditioner. Usually on offer in tesco. Make up is boots no 7. Get a free consultation to find your skin type.

Try Keraste hair care, made a huge difference for me, also Armani luminous silk is a very good foundation.

Ditto! The sales assistant in Boots will colour match you for no 7.

Davines shine spray is nice to use and smells lush.

I didn't realise the formula of double wear had changed! I've noticed a massive (negative) difference but thought it was just my skin! Feel like after a few hours it's falling off my face whereas previously it's stayed all day 🫤

Worth looking into collagen supplements - might be worth trying for you.

I recently found Studio10 make up and absolutely love it! I had a highlighter that was in a beauty advent calender and looked them up, everything I have bought so far has been amazing.

@Queenscarlett I love Clarins Skin Illusion foundation but have recently found the Max Factor Miracle Pure serum one is a good dupe at half price (even cheaper on ebay and Amazon). I use a Soap & Glory foaming cleanser as my skin is combination now and clarins moisturisers. For hair, I find the stupid hard water here means I have to change my shampoo but what I should probably do is use something like neutrogena to clear the deposits then go for a kerastase one. My hair drives me nuts but skin is ok. Also wear the Trinny SPF - the colour changing cream they do is also excellent (not quite foundation - it’s lovely, not cheap but lasts)

You need to start from the inside....I highly recommend collagen. My hair was the same and thinning terribly. Ive been taking collagen for around a year now but after 5 months of taking it my hairdresser commented that I had a lot of new baby hair coming through. It definitely works to improve hair. I have a £10 discount if anyone would like to use it.

Redken/Kerastase/L’Oreal Professional Haircare - any for your hair type.

Philip Kingsley Elastizer once or twice a week left on over night.

I can’t help with foundation as I don’t wear it!

I swear by Biotin, have been taking it religiously for 5 years and absolute collagen for 3 years. My hair and skin have never ever been better!
