1 week in the not-too-hot summer sun

Looking for a lovely 1-week getaway in August... Primary aged kids (3, 8, 11), priority beach/swimming. Not too far (so Europe) and not too hot (max 30). I'm so scared of the mega heatwaves Europe has seen past few years - we'd be miserable! We've never taken kids abroad for a typical sunny holiday, so somewhere easy would be perfect. Flexible budget. We're totally clueless... Thank you!

The Netherlands

Ibiza. It may go over 30 but it’s August..it’s never felt too hot though. We go to Port des Torrents or Es Cana. Nice breeze. I wouldn’t consider Greece it is HOT.

Northern spain Costa Brava or Costa Doranda might be what you are after

Canaries or Madeira? Northern Portugal around Porto.

The problem with Southern Europe is risk of extreme heat and everywhere else might be too cold.

Oh north Teneriffe isn't roasting although i went in June so not sure about August.

The Vendée. Had many lovely holidays there. Beautiful coastline and beaches, not too hot.

The Algarve. As an ex Holiday Rep who lived on the Med and then The Algarve for several years, there was a noticeable difference between the two. The Atlantic coast was far more bearable. Alvor is nice for families, super beach.

Great thank you everyone! Lots to look into! I had thought of Portugal, so will check out Porto and Algarve. Do people go through online travel consultants nowadays?! I'm so out of touch. Gone are the days you go into a travel store... and I'm only 40, lol!
