I wasn’t sure where to post this but I’m looking for anyone living in or near West Malvern that can give some advice?!

We’ve found a house that DH & I like on the hill facing west, but I can’t figure out if it’s the right place for our kids (4, 7 and 10)

It’s gorgeous here but there seems very few kids about?! Is it really just a place for retired folks!

The primary schools (st James and the Wych) look very dinky. My sports mad middle child really wanted to find a school with a big playing field and forest school like we had at our old school.

Does anyone have insider info on the local schools?

Any advice on this area really welcomed, thank you 🙏 ☺️

Hi, I can't give much advice, but I live about 30 mins from Malvern and know people in Colwall. They've lived there decades, raised their family there and love it. It's a lovely area, and Malvern has a good leisure centre and fantastic theatre. There are various Facebook groups for Malvern, and at least one for West Malvern, so perhaps ask there. My biggest concern would be the shadow that falls across the area for half of the day (depending where on the west side you're considering).

That’s so good to hear thanks

Colwall is only a mile or 2 away from the house we like, and does seem nice, and the primary school there does look bigger with more facilities now I come to think of it

Good tip thank you

I also live about 30 minutes away and used to work in Malvern, but not West Malvern.
There must be a lot of kids about because there are two secondary schools as well as a private school.
Are you only looking in West Malvern, or are you looking around the area? There’s an active Facebook groups called something like ‘Worcestershire Mums Network’ that will have members from Malvern who might be able to help??
