Is anyone else having this experience on ebay? Is it a scam?

I know there's an ebay section, but it's very quiet and I'd prefer more traffic if possible.

I buy quite a few things on ebay, stuff like soap and pet products etc. Lately, I've been finding that sellers say they've posted items, but it doesn't arrive. There's usually a tracking number that leads to a 'delayed' message. I then raise the issue and money is refunded. Also, sellers saying they've posted items, but are clearly lying.

Is this some sort of scam? I've been on ebay for 15 years and it's happened four times in the past couple of months.

I had one in last few weeks where they didn’t post item and just ghosted me
never had that before and can’t see what they gained from that .
was a pain as had to wait weeks for eBay to open a case etc

Me too...an item didn't arrive. I had to reorder, 10 days after initially ordering I received the item.

Can't say whether it 'got lost in the post'...or it wasn't posted in the first place.
It is the first time this has happened though.

Interesting 🤔 I'm aware that ebay have introduced some kind of new postage rules, but I don't know enough about it as I'm not a seller.

One seller cancelled my purchase because there was an 'issue with my address'. Um, no, it's just a normal residential address and I buy stuff every month with no problem.

Very flaky behaviour.

I think it’s more likely to happen with very high volume sellers, I’ve only had it happen twice luckily

I had the address problem , had two sellers contact me . I think it’s a new automated system and can only input certain numbers of characters . Somewhere along the line eBay had duplicated lines of my address so it was too long and buyers couldn’t get an address label . I had to go to settings and edit my address
