Worst hangover I've ever had. Not touched whiskey since.

No help but sympathy xx

Devilsmommy · 07/03/2026 08:26

Another shot of whiskey would take that right away πŸ˜‚

ElizabethsTailor · 07/03/2026 08:29

Oh dear. How much did you have?

The worst thing about a whiskey hangover (apart from the headache) is that when you try to rehydrate the next day it just seems to reactivate what you’re had πŸ˜… You can taste and even smell it again. Green tea seems to help though.

Was it worth it?

MagpiePi · 07/03/2026 08:29

Thoughts and prayers OP.

I’ve heard that taking a hayfever tablet can help as it can be an allergic reaction. Otherwise have all the painkillers you can safely take.

The worst I had was from Stella; haven’t touched it for over 30 years.

Catcatcatcatcat · 07/03/2026 08:34

I was vomiting for two days from whisky when I was 17. Haven’t touched it for 43 years. Even a sniff of it makes me retch.

frozendaisy · 07/03/2026 08:40

water
if you can handle glass of milk
painkillers
more water
tea
get someone else to make you cheese on toast or a sausage sandwich
water
more tea
sleep
trashy tv

Cocktailsandcoffee · 07/03/2026 08:41

Sympathies OP! I’ve never drunk whisky so not sure if there’s something specific for that but what sorts me out is

shower
brush teeth
dr pepper
toast and marmite

not necessarily in that order! Hope it gets better soon!

WeepingAngelInTheTardis · 07/03/2026 08:44

Have some water, and go back to bed you ain’t doing anything productive today. πŸ˜‚

Pray for 3pm to come quickly, that’s the magic hour where a hangover finally starts to leave Grin

Lurkingandlearning · 07/03/2026 09:11

I have a friend who only gets bad hangovers from blended whisky. Single malt doesn't have the same affect. Just mentioning that for next time... Unless you are in the "never again" stage of your hangover.

This is correct and no hangover cure will work before then 😭

I'm in my 40s and a hangover can last 2 days....

notabingthing · 07/03/2026 09:29

You know I don’t even feel hungover, just tired !! I’ve had two paracetamol and two ibuprofen plus a coffee and the headache seems to have gone 🀞 I’ve certainly had worse hangovers (Prosecco 😷)
I don’t drink often but will occasionally partake in some jamesons, always straight, never mix as i think pop doesn’t help ! But last night i just had a couple too many and had the squinty eye going on πŸ˜†

Oh god, I had one night on whiskey. I wet myself and thought I was dying the next day. Never touched it since!

MagpiePi · 08/03/2026 08:51

Mmmmm, Jamesons… πŸ₯°

HelpMeGetThrough · 08/03/2026 09:06

I got the worst hangover going when I drank three quarters of a bottle of Jack Daniels. Was ill for three days.

Can’t even look at a bottle now without feeling sick.

SideshowAuntSallyxx · 08/03/2026 09:17

Always a bag of watsits, a can of full fat coke, some grapes, and T4 and Hollyoaks Omnibus (those were the days). That was always my hangover cure.

Jack Daniels was once my drink of choice but I once got so drunk I can't remember anything about the night so haven't touched it since.
