Sending Money Through Wise

I need to send a large (few hundred thousand) amount of money for a purchase. It is GBP to GBP. The payment (for legal reasons) has to be one single payment. I bank with Llloyds and I can only do a CHAPS transfer if I go in person to a branch. I cannot do this as I am not in the UK until after the date of the purchase. I have a wise account and it appears I can transfer a few hundred thousand using wise, to the account of the seller, in one go. Has anyone done this, or have used any other methods transferring this amount of money from one UK bank account to another in one go?

Yes we’ve used Wise for very large sums many times over the years. It’s excellent

I have used Wise (formerly Transferwise) since 2013. No problems.

That is great - thank you for your helpful comments.

I used Wise to transfer a huge sum from Euros to GBP and was impressed by their security measures and how relatively simple it was. The restrictions I had were how much I could move from EU account into Wise on a daily basis - like 20k per day. Once in Wise it was no issue to move to the other account.

So you could move everything in one go - I have the same restriction with Lloyds that I can only move 20 or 25k a day but it HAS to be in one go in order for us to make the transaction work legally.

What's the transaction? My conveyancer asked for everything in one go, but i was nervous about the large sum and moved it in several chunks. It wasn't an issue.

It is for a house purchase but not in the UK - and in order to save a fortune in transfer fees, we are doing gbp to gbp (family sale). But it has to be in one go. Otherwise I have to send it to the country involved, and then both of us end up with significant currency fees.

Another positive recommendation for Wise - my brother used it to transfer a large sum to me (UK) from the US. Saved a lot in fees and was all secure.
