Thought this would be fun

I didn't buy any costumes this year my younger 3 are 5, 4 and 2

5yo went as the gruffalo, just a brown hoodie and brown joggers and i printed off a face mask which he coloured in yesterday and a made cardboard “horns” on a headband.

4yo went as super mario just a red mario hat, a red hoodie and blue dungarees with white gloves (which were slightly too big)

2yo can’t really talk yet so he just went as Peter rabbit, just a white t shirt, grey joggers, a blue cardigan and a little bunny ear hat all clothes he already had

what about your dc?

Willow from grimwood (a rabbit). Grey fleecy top, grey leggings, pompom tail, rabbit ears!

My DS was told to just wear comfy clothes. He has ASD and outright refuses to wear PJs when it isnt bedtime so he's gone to school in his football top and joggers. Guess he's a football player.
Our school is very odd when it comes to world book day. They used to have a themed class book, too many parents didn't like the idea. Then it was fave character. Now it is comfy.

Your outfits sound lovely :)

My youngest two went as Harry Potter and Little Red Riding Hood. I feel I've gotten good use out of the HP costume as it's the third year he is wearing it - his choice!!!

Willy Wonka, I don’t like buying the costumes from the supermarkets because they are usually a bit rubbish but they had it in Asda and I’ve just read it to my five year old so he was thrilled!

18 month old went off to nursery as Spot the dog. Yellow leggings and a yellow hoodie that happened to have ears on the hood.

A ninja, he took a ninja book with him. Black joggers, black hoodie, blue face mask thing, and some swords strapped to his back. I'm hoping he doesn't make me regret the swords....

It's our first year, I liked seeing what everyone was dressed up as. I know some people are anal about it having to be a book character but I think they all looked cool regardless of whether they're a book character, TV/film character, or just a cool costume. The dressing up part isn't really the reading part is it.

DD9 was Luffy from One Piece and DS7 was the tiger character from Dog Man.

Pyjamas! DDs school never do pyjama day for charity or anything like that, they just get asked to wear a certain colour accessory, so when the letter came through to say they could wear a costume or pyjamas she she jumped at the chance! Although we did spend yesterday evening decorating a potato into a book character, it was mainly me though, she played more of a Creative Director role, as in she told me what to do!

I dread to think what time some parents got up this morning though, there was some serious effort put in, one child was painted blue at drop off this morning!

A cat. She has a cat onesie.

She's Sid, from Six Dinner Sid.

No costume here either. I only have 1 DC who is 4yrs (number 2 on the way) and he just wore all green with a hoodie with dinosaur eyes, spikes and scales- he went as Gigantosaurus!
