Lost emails

I'm absolutely gutted. A few months ago I did a clear up of my Outlook email. I didn't think anything of it when I realised I've deleted a really personal email which meant a lot to me. It's definitely gone.

Anyway it can be recovered after being deleted months ago?

Have you looked in the recycle bin?

They only stay in there for 30 days I think?

All you can do is ask the sender to resend it, if this is at all possible.

If you replied to the email, look in you 'Sent' folder

Some people talk about resetting their computer to a previous date, I have no idea what they mean, but is that something anyone else can talk about? Like reset it to a month before you deleted them?

Did you delete the emails from the actual outlook website or did you have the emails downloaded to computer/phone and delete them from there? If the latter then they may still be available on the website depending on how you have the email client set up.

It's unlikely, but is it possible you have an old phone you could boot up that may have outlook messages cached on it? If so, try starting it up, but turn off all the network connectivity (WiFi included) before opening outlook, and see if it might be there - I can't remember what/how much it caches.

Oh my goodness. I've got it back! Thank you so much to you all. Talisin your suggestion worked. I am so happy. I was so upset yesterday as this had such sentimental value. I've now printed it and also forwarded it to a second email address in case anything happens again. I am so grateful to you all.

There is an option to recover deleted emails from the server. Go on your deleted items folder there should be a link
