My daughter has found 3 four leaf clovers

My 7 year old found her 3rd 4 leaf clover. We were walking home from school and she stopped apruntly to pick one from the verge. Last year she found 3 in quick succession. In PE, then in a planted garden we'd grown, with clover seeds.

I've never found one and they're meant to be rare. Do you think they could be other plants, or they're getting more common?

You can buy packs of 4 leaf clover seeds now, have been able to for ages!

This is such a nice story. It made me smile. A rare gem amongst so much angst on here. Thanks OP 😁

I remember finding multiples of them in a park in Bournemouth, must have been about 1984 so I’m not sure if they are becoming more common or if they grow close to each other and if you find one your chances of finding more are higher?

I found a handful growing in a particular patch of our lawn a few summers ago. I also found one growing in my friend's garden when I was a child.

When I was a child there was a patch containing lots of them on a verge near our house. Then the council gardeners came along with their weedkiller and my patch of four-leaf clovers was no more 😭

Apparently they do grow close together - according to someone my sister went to uni with when I found 3 in my chicken run! I think she studied biology so it sounded plausible! Doesn't explain finding 3 in different locations tho OP. That's clearly magic.

My sister finds them all the time, we can be out walking the dog, walking at a fairly fast pace and suddenly she will stop dead and pick up a four leaf clover. I feel like there must be a job that exists that could use that sort of eye scanning skill but I don’t know what!

Alwaysgrowing · 03/03/2026 08:20

It wasn't the same patch for DD, three different places, but she thinks she's lucky/ it's a present from the fairies (she's obsessed with fairies). Also when she found one in pe the rest of the class looked and couldn't find another. But she does have a similar skill to your sister @ParlezVousMangeTout. We were just walking along chatting and she stopped dead to pick it.

She has a good eye! DD found them repeatedly in her childhood. Now she is a genius at spotting speed camera and rare species when we are snorkelling/diving - some people are more observant than others :)

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 03/03/2026 08:23

(But I'd tell her she is very very lucky!!!)

Alwaysgrowing · 03/03/2026 08:25

She is observed in other ways. Eg from a young age knew where we were driving to. And at school picks things up the teacher are talking about, but not to the children! Very unlike me!

Where do you live? Could I come over and ask your dd to touch my Euromollions ticket for tonight? 😁

ParlezVousMangeTout · 05/03/2026 08:11

My local gift shop sells four leaf clovers in a little resin block. Perhaps your daughter could collect and press them and make key rings for her friends. I tried to press one but it went brown so I don’t know the trick for making it stay green. Maybe it’s putting it in resin while it’s fresh.

curious79 · 05/03/2026 08:12

Have you asked her to fill in a euro millions ticket yet?!?!

MrsHaroldWilson · 05/03/2026 08:15

If you find one, it's quite common to find another in the same area because the mutation that causes them will affect other clovers in the group - so always worth looking again in the same place!

BananasAreForever · 05/03/2026 10:27

That's lovely. Hopefully she will be blessed with boundless luck!
