Getting my 2-year-old a dog for her birthday, but which one?

A toy one of course!

My little girl is obsessed with dogs and I want to get her a realistic-ish looking one, preferably that barks, eat and walks, but I can only find ones that don’t walk.

Do you guys know of any decent ones, please? I’m terrible at finding good toys.

thank you so much

Go to build a bear and let her choose and make one

Don’t get an electronic one. Get a lovely cuddly one that she brings to like with her imagination. I love the steiff golden doodle. Will see if I can find a link…
.Puppy

Get a wee basket and lead for it. She will love it.

Gosh OP you have taken me back 60 years! I had a toy dog - push along (and could sit on it too!) a little like this. Loved and played with it for ever. Agree with PP, don’t go down the battery operated ones road.

Ikea has done various stuffed toy dogs over the years, some of which have become very well loved members of our family. Much more loved than the barking/jumping one DD got for her birthday one year.

My two year old has a loving nature one. We have the cocker spaniel version as we have a real cocker spaniel also. She absolutely adores it. It goes everywhere with her.
We also read the book “Dogger” by Shirley Hughes most nights and replace the boy in the books name with her and her toy dogs name. I would highly recommend both the toy and the book.

Oh that book dogger is amazing. I can picture all the lovely pictures. What a memory ❤️

I was going to suggest IKEA too. We have 2 big labradors and a small one who were very much loved by my boys.

My just turned 2 year old got a Little Live Pets dog for her birthday and loves it. It sort of shuffles a bit and barks and moves but it’s also cuddly enough

Oh yes, that's what I was thinking of. I also wondered about Zoe the Robodog but honestly OP at 2 she'll get most use out of something cuddly, I would think
