Anyone got pale 'pleather' car seats - problem?

We're looking at new (to us) cars and I am often drawn to the look of ones with pale seats, they're described as leather but I think they are actually plastic leather.

Do they get really grubby in the long term? Does the blue from jeans wear off on them? No kids or food stuff to worry about, just normal light usage.

My head says avoid but my heart says they look lovely!

We have light leather seats in one car, I haven't noticed they look grubby (only adults, we do wear blue jeans sometimes!). We don't get it cleaned inside very often, valeted properly probably a couple of times a year. A wet wipe gets rid of coffee drips 🙂

If it's a used car you're looking at, there would be signs of discolouring already if the material was particularly prone to it and couldn't be sorted out with cleaning.

Is the whole interior pale? I had a car for a while with a light interior and the pale dashboard reflecting on the windscreen was really annoying.

Ah, no, just the seats.
The cars are up to about 18m old so probably not showing signs of wear yet and the dealers have presumably given them a good valet. We would aim to keep the car for a good 10 years.

We’ve had pale leather seats in cars - mine currently are light leather! I’d double check the material, if it’s described as “leather” you’d want to be sure what it actually is - ours are actual leather.

Depending on the seat (and person!) shape, in my DHs last car the seats ended up with some colour transfer from dark coloured jeans on. However we had paid to have the interiors protectively coated and also had the little leather cleaning kits so with a quick valet it always came up perfect again.
