Not serious - I'm just perplexed.
He's 16. Does a few light chores when asked with a bit of delay/grumbling - basically fine but very much led by me. Not a set routine because he's at his dad's eow so one has never stuck. Bedroom is his own affair as long as not a hygiene risk, which it isn't, but very messy.
This evening I got out of the bath and heard a weird noise of crockery/rustling and goodness knows what coming from downstairs. i thought the cats were messing around and potentially fucking stuff up so I shouted to ds, who I assumed was in his room, where he is around 80% of the time.
But no. He was in the kitchen. The noise was him. Reader, he was sorting the bags for life in the utility room as they were annoying him. That was the weird rustling noise. He had also emptied the dishwasher and loaded it. Without being asked. That is a chore I often (but not always) get him to do anyway, but he has NEVER done it of his own volition. The bag thing is just...well, not something I have ever considered, never mind him.
Does this mean a new him or is it a fluke? Anyone had similar. I'm reeling...
