Fucking awful

The way this country treats disabled people is shameful

murasaki · 28/02/2026 15:17

That's shocking, she clearly has capacity, it's basically kidnap for financial reasons.

Jollybugbird · 28/02/2026 15:33

That’s a hell of a cost though for one woman. It’s understandable she wants to be in her house if she can but 10k a week isn’t sustainable when she can be in a nursing home for a fraction of that cost. We have to start being realistic about what’s possible.

FFS 🤬 ! Why don’t we just bring back asylums and stick all the disabled in there whilst we’re at it because you know it will be so much cheaper won’t it instead of giving people with disabilities a choice in their care !!

ArmchairSuccubus · 28/02/2026 15:48

It is disgraceful.

I read about it on the BBC and was so horrified I’ve since contacted her mum asking if there’s anything I could do to help eg sign a petition. Mum just asked if Lucinda’s story could be shared as widely as possible on social media. So if you are able, please help by doing this.
