Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, in silence. Dd1's just left for work. She fed the cats when she got up & boy cat came back to bed to snuggle with me 😊. He jumped back out of bed when I got up but has probably gone back again.

We're not up to much today. Dd2 really needs some downtime after her GCSE mock exams over the last few weeks, and to start packing her room now they're done with.

We are off to see yet another house after being rejected from another, yesterday. Not sure what we're doing wrong but it's always "landlord picked someone else". Bloody brilliant...we'll just be homeless then 🤷‍♀️.

Other than that, more box packing and organising court paperwork (don't think it makes a difference tbh, I'm fully expecting the LL will "win" and we won't be allowed a few extra weeks to find somewhere).

I might spend a few hours crafting, or reading, later on, so my brain's busy with something else. Actually, dd2 wanted to re-watch some of The Rookie together, so maybe that.

Spaghetti & meatballs for tea later on, with whatever pasta oddments are in the cupboard so we're not packing half used packets.

After that, probably an hour with dd1 before bed 💤.

On second tea. Friend coming round for lunch then meeting other friend for coffee later.

Afternoon all, bit late today.
We had a lovely lie in as DS was off at 7:30 for an offer holders days at Leeds Uni. He won't be h9me until about 8pm.

We are still washing ski gear, but the last load will go on the line in about half an hour.

DH and I were trying to figure out where our shower is leaking. We have decided it is either the sealant or grouting, so someone else can do that. DH has already attempted the sealant (really badly).

Bit of lunch and then DH is going to the pub before the football and I'm off to my volunteering role.

Either risotto, carbonara or fish pie for tea as DS won't eat any of them. He will likely eat in Leeds or he can have bolognaise from the freezer when he gets in.

Your house hunting is a sad tale @lucysmamhope you find somewhere you love soon.

I'm on my way to a reunion with mums of early 2008 babies, we met during a chat forum and chatted through our births etc, then met in person weekly during mat leave. Babies are now 18!! Someone tracked us all down. One has remained a close friend all these years. Most I will hardly recognise. I'm a little self conscious as I've gained weight but also excited to see them.

@PinkLegoBalloon no, not limited as such. Just don't want to be a trek away from school for dd2 and work for me (both currently walkable). Location's less important for dd1 so long as she can get to work on the odd days she's home and working/can get a bus to the train station.

Someone asked upthread about dd staying with a friend - I very much doubt she'd go for that but have thought about it a few times.

Up and out reasonably early to go to the Post Office in order to pay in some cash I had hanging around.

Had become aware, via my Waitrose app, that I was 15p off a "little treat" reward, which was due to expire today. It was only a short detour, so went in there and got a packet of bourbons (since when were bourbons £1.10! I swear they were 90p for ages, and like 50p in Tesco!). Then went back into the app to see what I'd "won". :) A 4-pack of flower-shaped crumpets. Not bad. Don't need/want crumpets right now, so they've gone into the freezer for another time.

Home for a late egg and soldiers breakfast and a hot chocolate. Nothing else planned for the day. :)

Good afternoon all :) sorry to hear about your housing situation @lucysmam , hope it all gets sorted soon.

I am decidedly hungover today after an early dinner out with work friends turned into a much longer evening! DH is working so I am in charge of the kids all day. Dropped DD at musical theatre this morning and worked through my full repertoire of “games mummy can play while lying on the sofa” with toddler DS. They’ve both had a good play and some lunch in the garden since the weather is finally reasonable and we’re all now ensconced on the sofa watching Lego Friends.

Thinking we might go to soft play this afternoon as DS is now finally at an age where he can navigate it fairly confidently solo and I can supervise from ground level. Then home for the Sainsbury’s delivery and pizza tea while watching Gladiators.

Expecting to need an early night tonight but will hopefully squeeze in an episode of Bridgerton once kids are in bed!

Good afternoon all. Late for me today as I was at a seaweed foraging event this morning with DS then we went out for lunch. It's lovely and bright today but we had a tricky week with little sleep and too much work and I've been in a foul mood since yesterday - can't seem to shake it at all.

DH is on call today again as a favour to a colleague but hopefully won't get too many. For me, there's some admin needing sorted for my mum and a few house things to do. We need to get our groceries for the week too. Later, I'm hoping to get a long hot bath with a glass of prosecco and a magazine. Steak and chips for dinner. Have a great day, everyone.

Evening all - very late to the party! Quite a day. Worked 9 til 1 then Tesco shop for DF & DM.Collected DD17 to go & visit them as she hasn’t seen them for quite a few months. It’s lovely, although sadly I don’t think DM really knew who she was 😥 Dropped her home then back to my folks’ as I’m still staying with them. Popped into the Co- op on my way & got some vastly reduced items including a cheesy pasta bake for less than £2 which will easily feed 3. Had an upsetting moment with DM - she has a form of dementia & her mood swings are definitely getting worse. I ended up getting impatient & a bit angry & went off to my room where I had a good cry. I know that it’s the illness not my lovely Mum & that I was angry with the dementia not her but it’s so so hard. We had a hug later on & I apologised. Half watched BGT but I found the audience quite distracting - I’m sure it never used to be such a noisy programme. My folks’ tv doesn’t help as it seems to really boom! Weird sound system. Had pizza for tea & need to stop munching choccie biccies!
