Achilles tendon- any physios out there?

A couple of weeks ago I strained my achilles tendon during a combat class- felt it overstretch. I ruptured (not completely, but enough to have my calf 3 times its size and turn purple!) this tendon around 14 years ago, but it has been fine since. I have been resting it and not training, but its not really getting any better and today I stepped back at work and felt it overstretch again, so now it is really sore again, dull ache.
What is the best thing to do at this point- ice? Heat? Rest? Keep moving? Stretches?
Any advice appreciated! Im fed up walking like a pirate with a peg leg, and keen to get back to training!

I'm not a physio, but my BIL is and when I did mine he said to rest it and respect it as tendons do not like healing.

Said to not do any stretches if it was sore. Ice after movement but warmth can be comfortable before starting to move. Once non tender and without swelling/heat to start off with balancing exercises and then heel drops on a stair. But if it hurts don't push it.

Also a slightly raised heel compared to your sole helps support it while healing but you don't want a big heel. Just not a flat bottomed shoe with no support.

Hopefully someone else will have more detailed advice soon!
