Last hospital visit 🙁

I'm hoping for some reassurance 🙏

Tomorrow, I'm going to hospital to see my Grandad who's been told he doesn't have long left to live. He's got cancer.

He's currently talking but I know how fast this can decline.

I'm going to see them tomorrow and I'm scared this will be the last goodbye. What do I say? What do I do?

They're very much alert (although sleeping lots) and are aware they don't have long left which I think is upsetting me more.

Tell them what they mean to you, share stories, show photographs of your time together that bring you joy.

Tell him what's going on in your life.
Ask him any questions you've got about family history etc
Talk about fun things you've done together in the past and happy memories - thank him for all he has done for you over the years.
Tell him you love him.
Talk about anything else he wants to talk about (whether it's cancelling the milk, funeral plans, how he's feeling etc)
(Assuming all the above is true).

Thankyou. I know it sounds daft but I'm so worried about crying!

He does. He has said he's accepted it but it's still not easy x

Its ok to cry, I think the most important thing it just to just be there for them.
