I'm all for supporting local etc but fuck me, they want £7.80 for 8 slices of bacon at mine 😱 It's not even organic. Just bog standard bacon.

The title is clearly supposed to be eight slices of back bacon.

£9-£10 a kilo here, so I would say £6 if sliced thickly.

I think it roughly equates to about a pound a rasher at our butchers. Dh goes weekly for our meat and once a month he orders 24 rashers and the sticker says it’s about 25 however I think it’s usually a couple of rashers more than 24 because it can be a bit fiddly to separate and count!
It’s nice quality and not pumped full of water so it seems worth it.

Is it thick bacon, to us we prefer butcher bacon, sausages and meat in general, it is dear compared to supermarkets, but we find we don’t need as much, bacon from supermarkets is generally full of water and it shrinks so much, whereas butcher bacon doesn’t.

I got 500g today and it was £6.50, just checked my receipt, £86.58 in total for my order.

Depends how thickly you want it sliced as to actual cost for 8 rashers, but usually about £10/kg depending which butchers.
