Do you get refreshments at school meetings?

Just thought I would explain that this week I've had a lot of stuff to do that is physically hard but doesn't need much thinking so as usual I have been pondering random stuff.

So at my dc meeting with school (state secondary) this week we had a choice of drinks and there was food as well. At the awards evening at the end of the year there are always crisps and sweets. But in primary school there is nothing like that.

I don't mind either way but I was curious. Is it random or is it a primary/secondary thing? Is the primary school's healthy eating policy preventing them from offering junk food and sugar at school events and secondary school is less strict? I'm wondering if there is a member of staff at the dc secondary school who spends their own money on this stuff to encourage parents and students to attend. If that's the case it's working for my 15 year old. He's not bothered about the certificates but he always tries hard to earn at least one certificate so he can go to the awards evening and have crisps/sweets.

So I was just wondering what other schools do as I only have experience of 2 schools.

At DD's secondary pre covid the pta did (paid for) coffee and biscuits at parents evening.

That's a good idea, would raise a bit of money for the school too.
