Morning all, I took my son to hospital for an operation, my son went home with his mum and partner, who had a car crash on way home and my son took a video, I could hear my ex's partner talking to emergency services , my son sent a message to me saying he's in more pain due to the accident after the crash, my son later messaged to say he's okay now and back at his mums, I'm thinking they should of told me, or is it okay to not inform me?

Did they know your son had messaged you? How old is he? Old enough to inform you himself and get all the details correct?

I hope your son recovers quickly from the accident and his op.

How old is your son?
If his mum knew he’s texting you maybe she thought she didn’t need to.

Hi, he's 13 but has learning difficulties, he recorded covertly by the look of what he sent, there's no way his mum would let him send the video.

No, his mum would never allow him to, he recorded it from the back in the dark.

Good on him recording the incident. Has he told you why he did that?

And yes they should most certainly have informed you of the crash. It could have been really important if your son went on to develop medical issues as a result of the crash like concussion or internal bleeding. To be forewarned is crucial so you can look out for any issues when you have your son.

I do not see it as an issue
He is fine
