Thinking of taking my little one for their birthday (4yo)

No, it’s overpriced and rubbish in my opinion

Depends what your bench mark is. It’s better than the Manchester one but not as good as London. I think you can get a parent under 5 discount ticket it’s a great birthday trip.

I don't know how much it is now but we enjoyed it when we went a few years ago.

The had some open rock pools as well as the big tanks and penguins. The shark tunnel was lovely.

It’s ok for an hour and a half at a push

This is probably not any help to you but The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth is excellent and the largest Europe I believe.

@ThatNattyPlayer I completely agree with this.

StedSarandos · 24/02/2026 22:12

I wouldn't. It sounds as bad as the London Sea Life centre where they have the poor penguins permanently living in an inner room with no access to daylight at all.

You can do a combi ticket with the Legoland centre which would fill the day more or go and have a look around Birmingham Library which is lovely. It only took my DD about 90 minutes to get around but she liked it. Looking back though I do feel bad about the penguins, I don't think I'd go again to be honest.
