I returned something to the seller by mutual agreement. However, they haven’t collected the parcel yet (it was delivered a few days ago) so obviously I haven’t received my refund. I’m suspecting that the seller is annoyed at the return (from the tone of the messages) and is dragging out the process a bit.
So, my question - I know that if the seller doesn’t collect the parcel it will be sent back to me, but:

1. How long does the seller have before that happens?
2. If that happens, do I get a refund AND keep the item? (Obviously I’m hoping they just collect the damn parcel!)

Good question. I’m waiting on a refund at the moment. You can give feedback saying it’s taking a long time…

Depends on the courier. If it’s inpost then you only have 72hrs to collect the parcel. Evri or Yodel is 7 days.
I believe if they don’t collect the parcel you still get your refund as you’ve done your side of the process (returning the item).

This happened to me and the original seller failed to pick up in time so I got my refund plus the item was sent back to me!

Just checked and, with this courier, you have five days to pick up the parcel or it’s sent back to the sender. So that is tomorrow…not long to wait for some kind of resolution.

This happened to me in December. They didn't collect despite having more than a week to do do and it was then sent back to me. Obviously I was unwilling to pay yet for sending it back a second time.

Vinted paid me back and I still have the item. The whole process took 6 weeks though.

Interesting! Well, I guess I’ll find out tomorrow or the next day as to what the next steps are! I’m baffled as to why the seller hasn’t collected the parcel yet - I wrote a nice message saying ‘I see it’s been delivered’ and she replied ‘I know, I haven’t collected it yet…’. . It’s not hugely expensive but certainly enough that she wouldn’t want to lose the item (about £40).
