Baby swimming classes - what do they wear?

Hello!

I’m going to book my 6mo DD into baby swimming classes soon. The pool requires a double nappy system with a standard Huggies swim nappy and then a Happy Nappy on top which I think are on Amazon.

I’ve never been before or watched a class - do babies wear a swimming costume on top as well usually? Or something covering arms and legs? The pool is heated to 31/32 degrees.

Thanks!

No, just swim nappies in my experience.

Yes, you need the double nappy system as you described. The disposable swim ones from the supermarket (or a reusable one if you prefer) and then a happy nappy neoprene type one on top from Amazon or whatever.

The pool temperature should be warmer for a babies lesson but can still be cold when they’re very little. So you could get a swimming wrap or warm-in-one suit type thing from splashabout or similar. If they are on the chubbier side, they may be fine without!

My baby started at 5 months and he wore a Splash About Warm in One swimsuit. He now wears just a normal all in one swimsuit over the top of his nappy at 16 months (but we dont need a double nappy, we just use the disposable ones) Ive seen babies just with a happy nappy but in our current lesson now theyre a bit older all have some sort of outfit over the top.
