Do You Have GodChildren?

If so, what’s your relationship with them like? I have 4 but only see one regularly (he is also my oldest DNephew). I have another Godson, now in his early 30s, who is sadly estranged from my friend so I haven’t seen him in years. Then I have 2 Goddaughters in their 20s (the daughters of one of my oldest friends) & am only in touch with them on social media as my friend & I haven’t met up for a few years now. Quite sad about it all 😥

I don’t have any because I don’t really have any Christian friends.

That said, I don’t think it’s something you can feel sad about. It’s a one way relationship set up by a parent when the child was a baby. It’s your job alone to maintain the relationship. It’s not reciprocal. I was christened. I must have godparents because there was definitely a ceremony and I’ve seen pictures. But I have no idea even who they are. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They obviously didn’t feature much in my life as a child or someone would have mentioned it.

Yes, one who is in his mid 40s. I don't see him very often, he has a very demanding job, see his kids once in a while but his mum is my oldest friend and I see her a lot so I'm kept in the loop of anything that's going on in his life.

Yes I have 2 godchildren. Close to both. Ones and adult and ones a small child.

I don’t. DH does - 2 primary age. He sends them birthday and Christmas presents but otherwise has no particular relationship with them.
