A couple of the pics say "AI Rendered photo" when you hover over them, but most of them don't.

If it's real, my money is on it being owned by a footballer...

Check out this 7 bedroom detached house for sale on Rightmove

7 bedroom detached house for sale in Darras Road, Darras Hall, NE20 for £5,000,000. Marketed by Brunton Residential, Ponteland

Not to my taste.

Yeah probably a prof footballer

maskymask · 23/02/2026 05:37

Was it built post 2023 then?

It’s truly awful, those coloured velvet pouffes look AI but they are horrible so what’s the point?

MissingSockDetective · 23/02/2026 05:56

It just looks really chilly, I'd need to find a safe corner and wrap up in my dressing gown and slippers to feel at all safe in there!

Gatekeeper · 23/02/2026 06:16

Utterly devoid of warmth, taste, comfort...everything really. I can imagine a dripping tap somewhere-albeit a zillion ££££ one- and a feeling of gloom and despondency falling on whoever walks inside Grin

AccidentallyPorked · 23/02/2026 06:32

Even from the preview pic on your post, it looks fake. The size of it compared to the silver birch tree!!

Namechangeforthis88 · 23/02/2026 07:12

Why anyone would model a house on HMP Chelmsford is beyond me, but you can't deny they have done a great job of it.

Sold for £385,000 in 2023 now asking £5m

😅😅😅😅

Does the artist formerly known as prince Andrew own this???
Sounds like another sunninghill special!!!

HighStreetOtter · 23/02/2026 07:27

5million for a house in Ponteland 😆😆😆😆. It’s horrendous inside. Shame they didn’t use AI to make it appear than it has better decor. Think you’ve hit the nail on the head with it being a footballer.

What does “ai rendered” even mean? That it actually looks like that but they’ve used AI to change the colour a bit? Or that it’s actually more of a cottagecore and floral vibe inside and they’ve totally mocked up the soulless grey?

HighStreetOtter · 23/02/2026 07:30

I got chatgpt to add a nose to a photo of my dog as I’d accidentally cut his nose off the photo. Is that AI rendering? It doesn’t look right as in reality his snout is longer, they’ve just imagined a dog nose on him. But if you didn’t know him it looks realistic. I’d be curious how much this house looks like this inside.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 23/02/2026 07:35

Very hard on the eyes. I liked the signs of life that were dotted about- bin liner, messy beds etc. They need better bedding for estate agent photo shoots- comforters rather than duvets, I would think. The TV in every room left me looking for it in the bathrooms too.

There were some spectacularly awful details- the tarmac pad around the house, with 3 pub style picnic tables arranged outside.

I really liked the second kitchen though- sage green units with an open pan cupboard. And I quite liked the booth seat in the main kitchen. If you have room, an island with a breakfast bar and a booth works well.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 23/02/2026 07:39

AI rendered probably means the tarmac isn’t quite as shiny as it looks 🤣
I really dislike the shape of the house. There’s one similar in my area I looked at- not the indoor sparkle of this one, but the same ‘mansion sat on a perfect square of concrete’ vibe. It had a lot of land with it, so there was scope to render it more organic looking.

Can someone who uses AI make this house look a bit warmer on the outside? I’d be interested to see if it’s doable! Plants and trees and something or other!

As you wish, @PrizedPickledPopcorn! ChatGPT titled its work "Georgian manor with vibrant garden".

It doesn't even look like a well designed space to live in. Really odd windows in the kitchen and a tiny door to outside. I suspect it hasn't even been built fully yet, may not even have started if there isn't a floor plan.
There were pictures of a new house near us on rightmove that looked 'AI' like these, but at least with that there was a floor plan and the pictures matched the floor plan. It's just a way to start marketing a house early.

What a difference the plants on the balconies and the brick paving make!

itsgettingweird · 23/02/2026 08:08

You’d need a team of cleaners on daily to keep all that grey tiling sparkling!

That doesn't surprise me as it's band F for council tax.

Not to my taste at all. Far too much grey and black and shiny. No feelings of warmth or home and no indication of the sq footage.

I have soent the last two months looking out at grey and shiny. I think I'd enter a black dog if I had grey and indoors as well.

MonsteraDeliciosa · 23/02/2026 08:22

The outside looks like a model... the garage is far too big! There is definite AI going on in many of the photos. That round green thing is doing a lot if heavy lifting as the token bit of colour.

But more striking than anything is the sheer vomit-inducing hideousness of everything. Money certainly cannot buy taste!

Dollymylove · 23/02/2026 08:22

Its horrendous. No character whatsoever

blooooooor · 23/02/2026 08:25

Agreed that property does look grey and cold. But the comment “too big” 😬🤣🤣🤣🤣 … most houses in the UK have cubbyhole-sized rooms where you can’t even fit a proper wardrobe in and be able to walk around the bed freely. I definitely wouldn’t complain about having too much space 😂

ClawsandEffect · 23/02/2026 08:31

Darras Hall. Home of the vulgar wealthy. Nouveau riche and tacky as hell.

Exterior image is AI'd because the other glimpses of the exterior show less black tarmac.

Boutonnière · 23/02/2026 08:35

£5M ? This must be one of those blip areas of desirability for some reason, surrounded by normality. I live in a v expensive part of London ( wasn’t when we moved here) so am not usually taken aback at what looks like out of kilter pricing but this seems to be on a plot barely larger than the buildings, going by the proximity of the fences. The whole thing looks like someone’s first run at a computer game and I’m sure I’ve seen it featured before - possibly on here.

HighStreetOtter · 23/02/2026 08:56

senua · 23/02/2026 08:59

If you look at photo 8 you can see, through the windows, a car and some traffic cones so that could explain why they AI-ed the exterior photos.
I haven't worked out what is going on with the mirror in photo 2 - is there a bright yellow motorbike (?with sidecar?) hiding under the stairs.

CoastalCalm · 23/02/2026 09:07

There’s so many properties that have been done up like this - utterly soulless. I’d imagine the original home at that address was demolished and this built on the plot which is why so much discrepancy in £’s

Yes, most properties in the UK aren't big. But this is just too far the other way.

I remember visiting a wealthy relative with a large home, and I thought their bedroom was bigger than my flat! But it wasn't particularly homely, the vast space just made it feel too empty.
