Enhanced DBS as an individual-help!

Hi all. Been offered a new job but employer wants me to get an enhanced DBS. A quick google says that new legislation was introduced last month which means individuals can apply for it rather than employers (this is specifically what she wants me to do). I do t want to look an idiot asking her to help but I can’t find a company on the internet to do this. Can anybody help please?

I know of two companies, ucheck and credence but unsure if they are for employer or employee.

I'd be really questioning this job if they are making you pay for your own enhanced dbs

It's very easy and straight-forward as long as you have the relevant paperwork and forms of ID. There is assistance on this government website and you can call them for help too:

Additionally, you can get it sorted through these: https://www.postoffice.co.uk/identity/dbs-checks

DBS Update Service

Use the DBS Update Service to keep your DBS check certificates up to date or check an applicant's DBS certificate (used to be called CRB checks).
